One of the best things about an Irish summer must be enjoying a BBQ with family and friends. Our Executive Chef Adrian Bane has shared a few of his tips on how to have a successful BBQ.
Always use charcoal.
Light your charcoal 1 hour, before you want to use it to allow the coals to get white hot.
Add some wood chips at the end to impart more flavour to your food.
Do not place the hot dogs on the hottest part of the grill, as they can burn on the outside and may be still raw on the inside.
Move them regularly so they cook on all sides.
Put the lid on the BBQ for the first 3 minutes to add a smokey flavour to your food.
Toast the Buns on the BBQ.
Serve with something spicy like an Irish Mustard & something cooling like an Apple & Red Cabbage Slaw.

Adrian's favourite item is a BBQ Hot Dog and he uses local stout and onion sausages which are the same ones as those on the BBQ menu at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa,Galway.
