Cliffs of Moher
Located just a scenic coastal drive from our doors, the iconic Cliffs of Moher’s natural wonder stretches for 8km along the wild Atlantic way, soaring a dramatic 214 meters above the crashing ocean.
As you wander the safe, cliffside pathways, you will be treated to unforgettable panoramas of the Aran Islands and the rugged coastline stretching toward Hag’s Head. Look closely and you might spot the local puffins nesting on the sea stacks, or catch sight of the legendary ‘Aileen’s’ surfing wave. You can climb the 19th-century O’Brien’s Tower for the highest vantage point, explore the unique eco-friendly visitor centre carved right into the hillside, or even continue your journey down the trail to the lively village of Doolin.
Derrigimlagh
Stretching from the Atlantic shore towards the mighty Twelve Bens, Derrigimlagh blanket bog is one of Europe’s most magnificent wetland environments and a place of wonder, innovation and daring.
The bog boasts a rich archaeology, dating back over 6,000 years but also has a remarkable modern history. In the early 20th century, Derrigimlagh was at the centre of two outstanding transatlantic technological achievements: the first in communications, the second in transport marking the beginning of an era of modernity.
