Noel Barrett

Manager of Energize Fitness & Leisure

Noel is currently studying a Masters in Sports Coaching as well as gaining many qualifications during his career.

Florian

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Physical/Sporting Activities, Specialised in Health promotion and adapted physical activity from University of Montpellier, France
  • RLSS Pool Lifeguard Certification

Florian is a French native and before joining the Energize team he worked as a project manager on different research projects for health and physical activities. He has played rugby league and union since a child and he also used to play Wexball. Florian is always happy to help members with their training, to deliver fitness assessments and to offer advice.

For Florian, the most important thing is to have fun during practice!

Holly 

Qualifications:

  • EQF Level 4 Personal Trainer

Holly is originally from Donegal and has lived in Galway for the last 7 years. She is a qualified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and lifeguard. She is most passionate about bodybuilding and strength training. Her main goal in classes is for everyone to feel welcome and to have fun! She is also available for personal training in Energize.

Olivia

Qualifications:

  • ITEC level 5 in Fitness Instructing
  • ITEC level 6 in Personal Training
  • Safeguarding 1 Child Welfare Protection with Sport Ireland
  • PDP 1 Football coaching
  • PDP 1 Basketball coaching
  • PFS Aqua Aerobics

Olivia comes from Mayo; she is a dedicated personal trainer and group fitness trainer. She is passionate about encouraging people of all fitness levels to be the best version of themselves, by educating and supporting them throughout their fitness journey. She is a cardio lover, and athletic long jump enthusiast.

Piece of advice: A little progress each day adds up to big results.

Zoe

Qualifications:

  • QQI level 3 in Fitness/Gym Instructing
  • ITEC level 5 in Personal Training

Zoe is from Galway; she is a qualified personal trainer and gym instructor and is available for personal training sessions now. Zoe really enjoys making fitness plans and loves helpings others achieve their fitness goals and seeing their progress is incredibly rewarding. She loves all sports and has played for a few clubs in the past, although her passion is for kickboxing.

Piece of advice: The effort you invest today is the pride you feel tomorrow
 

Aine

Qualifications:

Aine comes from Tipperary but has been in Galway for almost 4 years studying Sport and Exercise Science. She is hoping to do her masters in Sport Nutrition. She is a powerlifter who has competed nationally all over Ireland and has represented Ireland internationally. She loves to teach children and adults how to swim. Aine is passionate about helping people become the strongest versions of themselves, especially females who shouldn’t be afraid to lift some heavy weights!

Piece of advice: When you have a clear vision of your goal, it’s easier to take the first step towards it
 

Steve

Qualifications:

Originally from Mayo and now based in Galway, Steve has been training for many years with a passion for fitness and bodybuilding. Having worked in Toronto, Canada and Birmingham, England, he brings a wide range of experience and a grounded approach to fitness. He believes in helping people reach their goals in a way that feels achievable and sustainable.

Piece of Advice: “You don’t have to be perfect, just be consistent.”
 

James

Qualifications:

  • EQF Level 3 in Fitness Instructing
  • EQF Level 4 in Personal Training
  • EQF Level 3 in Group Instruction

James is originally from Galway and has lived in Galway his whole life. He is a qualified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. He is most passionate about bodybuilding and running. He is an Ultra Marathon runner and raised money for charity last year. His main goal in classes is for everyone to feel welcome, have fun and push themselves. He is also available for personal training at Energize.

Jamie

Qualifications:

  • ITEC level 5 in fitness instructing
  • ITEC level 6 in personal training
  • QQI Level 5 in Strength and Conditioning with Performance Analysis

Jamie is a Galway native and is a dedicated Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, he brings a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals, whether it’s through tailored workout plans or high-energy group classes. His journey has taken him from the sunny shores of the Canary Islands, where he honed his skills, to tackling his next big challenge: a 100km ultra-marathon. As a bit of a fitness extremist, he is always pushing his limits and encouraging his clients to do the same. With a blend of professionalism and a fun, dynamic approach, he is here to make your fitness journey as rewarding as possible.

Piece of advice: "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now." (this isn’t about trees)
