GALWAY PUMPKIN PATCH
Located just 30 minutes from Galway City, Galway Pumpkin Patch returns this October for weekend openings at the historic Castletaylor Demesne in Ardrahan. Perfect for families, the event offers more than just pumpkin picking, with spooky decorations, fancy dress, games, face painting, and seasonal treats available on site from 10am to 4.30pm. Tickets must be booked in advance and sell out quickly each year, so be sure to secure yours early.
MURDER MYSTERY AT WILDLANDS
Get ready for a thrilling Halloween experience at Wildlands Adventure Centre in Galway with our spine-tingling Murder Mystery Orienteering! Venture into the eerie forest by moonlight, crack cryptic clues, and uncover chilling secrets as you work to solve the haunting mystery. Gather your fellow detectives, dress in your creepiest costumes, and take on the challenge—can you identify the culprit? Suitable for ages 6 and up (children aged 6–8 must be accompanied by an adult). Tickets must be booked in advance.
HOWLING HALLOWEEN AT BRIGIT'S GARDEN
Visit Brigit’s Garden this Halloween for a self-guided Spooky Treasure Hunt—an exciting outdoor activity running throughout the midterm break. Families can explore the gardens at their own pace, solving clues, gathering letters, and helping to break the wicked Púca’s spell. Come in costume if you dare to face the mummy in the crannóg and the coffin in the Stone Chamber, and don’t miss a visit from the Wacky Witch, who’ll be sharing potions, spells, and spooky secrets. No advance booking is required—simply pay admission on arrival. The Garden Café and Gift Shop will also be open for seasonal treats and refreshments.
Halloween fun kicks off at Turoe Pet Farm, where little ones can enjoy a spook-tacular day of indoor adventure in fully decorated soft play areas. Kids can climb, slide, and bounce through “Jungle City” and the giant “Inflatable City,” before joining the fancy dress parade at 4pm, followed by a lively disco with DJ Corky and special mascot appearances. The fun continues with face painting, balloon modelling, and time to meet, feed, and cuddle the farm animals. With three hours of all-weather entertainment, plus hot food and refreshments available on site, it’s the perfect Halloween outing—costumes are welcome but not essential!
Slieve Aughty invites families to a spooktacular Halloween Festival filled with magical moments and eerie adventures in the heart of South Galway. From October 26th to the 31st, enjoy autumn walks or pony rides through the countryside to Bloody Mary’s Haunted House (recommended for ages 8+), or explore the Enchanted Forest on the Witch’s Walk—a fun treasure hunt designed for younger children (under 8), running daily at 12pm and 4pm. For those feeling brave, the one-hour Trail of Terror begins at 4pm and promises thrills and chills along the forest paths. Throughout the day (12–5pm), families can enjoy spooky face painting, Halloween games, arts and crafts, a small animal farm, and a playground for younger guests. Costumes are encouraged, sweet treats await, and booking is advised—especially for pony rides and special activities.
