Ronan Moore - Manager

Ronan has a wealth of experience in various areas of fitness, such as one one one personal training and strength and conditioning.He has worked successfully with many clients over the years in a one on one capacity to help them set and reach their goals.He has worked with several GAA and Rugby teams of every age group, by developing specified training programmes. 

Ronan has also trained with many leading personal trainers with over 40 years of experience to build on his well-rounded skill set and can offer gym members something new.

Ronan has been with Energize for 12 years and is one of the most professional and experienced in his field. The gum and leisure centre has seen year on year improvements and growth under his management which reflects his passion for his members and his drive for Energize to be the very best.

Qualifications:

N.C.E.F Level 1 (fitness instructor)

N.C.E.F Level 2 (Personal Training, Facility Operations)
Elite Fitness Academy, Strength and conditioning

Classes Taught:

Aqua Aerobics, Bootcamp & 1 to 1 Personal Training.

Tip To Members:
Training doesn’t always have to be very hard, exercise can be enjoyable when you find activities that you enjoy and perhaps can do with friends. Work with your trainer to find your comfort zone, set a goal and work toward your target from there.  This will help you stay on track when things get hard.

Katie Welby - Team Member

Katie is one of our most rounded out Personal Trainers. Some of Katie's most popular classes include Fat Burn, Bootcamp and Core. Recently, she has also started teaching Bums Tums and Thighs which has become a favourite amongst our members. Katie is always on hand to help our members and provide feedback. A keen kickboxer she also enjoys hiking.  

Qualifications:

TEC Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer
QQI Fitness Instructor
QQI Group Instructor.
Qualified Spinning Instructor.

Classes Taught:

Fat Burn, Spin Class, Bums Tums and Thighs

Tip To Members:

Bring a friend. Starting in the gym can be scary so having someone to workout with or attend classes with will help in the beginning by making you feel more comfortable.

Rory Creane - Team Member

Rory is a dedicated fitness professional with a keen eye for detail and strives to help all our members reach their best. Rory trains several classes at Energize such as Core and Fatburn and in heavily involved with helping beginners with their fitness assessments. An amateur Strongman, Rory is also interested in Powerlifting, Crossfit and MMA.

Qualifications:

QQI level 5 course in Exercise, fitness & nutrition (gym instructor).
Phase 1 & Phase 2 strength & conditioning certification with KG Elite.
National Diploma in Personal Training (NSC)/
NFQ Aligned Certificate in Personal Training (VTCT )

Fat Burn, Core, Bootcamp

Tip To Members:

Start small and build. Energize is one of the most well-equipped gyms in Galway. From the weights and machines to the classes taught, there are plenty of options for beginners to choose from while they become more familiar with the gym. Also, don't be afraid to ask one of the members of staff for help.

Ela Bernat- Team Member

Ela is one of our busiest team members, between carrying out Fitness Assessments with new and existing members as well as designing their fitness programs, with each members skill and fitness levels in mind. On top of this, she also teaches many of the classes which means every member will get to know her very well. Ela loves to cook to support her active lifestyle. 

Qualifications:

 EQF Level 4 Personal Trainer with Nutrition
EQF Level 3 Fitness Instructor
EQF Level 3 Group Instructor
Level 1 Spinning and Body Conditioning

Classes Taught:

Spin, Bootcamp, Aqua.

Tip To Members:

Nutrition is just as important as working out. Looking after your health and staying fit starts in the kitchen with informed and healthy food options. This doesn't mean excessive dieting or eating all greens, it just means eating in moderation and making better food choices. 

Tony Grealish- Team Member

Tony is a dedicated instructor who is always on hand to ensure that things run smoothly at Energize Fitness & Leisure. Tony takes charge of the Aqua Aerobics class whenever he is on site and also teaches circuit training classes as well. Tony plays hurling for his local club Liam Mellows in Galway City and is heavily involved with their at their Summer hurling camps.

Level 5 sports recreation

Level 6 personal training QQI award

GAA coaching award 1

Classes Taught:

Circuits, Bootcamp, Aqua.

Tip To Members:

Change up your program from time to time so as to ensure that you never become complacent or feel bored with your program. Also, look after yourself and your technique so you avoid injury. Recovery is key!
