Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture will be the largest and most complex cultural event ever held in Ireland. The year long event will run from February 2020 to March 2021. There are more than 1,900 events across 14 projects, 170 partnerships and collaborations with local, National and European & International artists and cultural organisations from over 20 countries.
Galway 2020 is a celebration of our city, islands, county, language and of course our people. It features the best of our local and national artists and cultural organisations, alongside some incredible European and international artists who together will transform the city and landscape. The ambitious programme will be unleashed throughout villages and towns, the city and the islands, and in some of most surprising and unexpected locations.
The Galmont Hotel & Spa is proud to be supporting Galway as the Capital of Culture 2020.
Due to Covid-19, Galway 2020 had to postpone and cancel some events. They are currently working on options for a re-imagined programme of events to take place in early 2021. Find out more here: Galway 2020
